Top 10 Accountants (top10accountants.com.au) is run by LeadHub Pty Ltd (ABN 16 621 973 760) ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What information we collect
We collect the personal information you give us when you use a form on this website. Depending on the form, this may include:
- your name, email address and phone number
- anything you put in your message, such as your city, the kind of accounting help you need or your business type
- the accounting firm you asked to be put in touch with, and the list you sent the enquiry from
- for firm reviews: the firm’s name, a contact person, website, office locations and years in practice
Please don’t send your tax file number, bank details or copies of tax documents through our forms. We don’t need them, and the firm you choose will ask for what it needs directly.
When you visit the site, our hosting provider also processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is used to deliver the site and protect it from abuse and spam.
You don’t have to give us your personal information, but if you don’t, we may not be able to reply or introduce you to a firm.
How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry
- introduce you to the firm you chose, or suggest firms from our lists that suit what you told us
- assess accounting firms that ask to be considered for a list
- operate, secure and improve the website
- meet our legal obligations
We don’t use your information for any other purpose without your consent, unless the law allows or requires it.
Who we share it with
If you ask us to put you in touch with a firm, we pass your contact details and message to that firm so it can reach you. From then on, the firm handles your details under its own privacy policy.
We also use service providers to run the website and deliver form submissions to us, including:
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website, processes form submissions and runs the spam check on our forms (Cloudflare Turnstile)
- Resend, which delivers form submissions to us by email
We don’t sell your personal information or share it with other providers for their marketing.
Overseas disclosure
Our service providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where Cloudflare operates. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle personal information in a way that is consistent with the APPs.
Cookies
This website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. Our hosting and spam-protection services may set cookies that are strictly necessary for security and to keep the site working.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access. Form submissions are sent over an encrypted connection. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or de-identify it.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us through our contact form. We’ll respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your personal information, please contact us first through our contact form and we’ll try to resolve it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
